Practical conservation work, carried out season after season
Our activities are planned around the natural calendar of the region — planting in the wet months, water and fire watch in the dry ones, training and education year-round.
Habitat Preservation & Reforestation Outreach
Organizing tree-planting campaigns, water-trough installations for wildlife during dry seasons, and local land restoration projects to protect indigenous fauna.
Planting is done with native species suited to our soil and rainfall, and each site is revisited through the following summers so that seedlings actually survive. During the driest months, volunteers refill water troughs placed along known wildlife corridors.
Ethical Game Management & Regulatory Compliance
Conducting educational safety workshops, licensing compliance seminars, and ethical hunting practices training for members and local sports enthusiasts.
Sessions cover firearm safety, respect for protected species and closed seasons, landowner relations, and the responsibilities every licence holder carries under Cypriot law. Participation is open to non-members as well.
Forest Protection & Fire Prevention Patrols
Partnering with local civic groups and environmental authorities to maintain seasonal wildfire prevention patrols and environmental cleanup drives.
Through the high-risk summer months, volunteer teams keep watch over dry ridgelines, clear flammable debris from access tracks, and report incidents immediately to the relevant authorities.
Community Environmental Education & Youth Engagement
Hosting nature appreciation walks, biodiversity workshops, and youth awareness sessions on preserving local ecology and protecting endangered flora and fauna.
Guided walks introduce younger residents to the birds, plants and water sources of their own village, with practical lessons on why certain species are protected and how small habits change the landscape.
Would you like to join a day in the field?
